Steve and Shelly with S bar S were our contractors on building our house in llano. It was just after COVID when materials and help was hard to find. Against the odds, Steve always found a way to get things done! The subs he used were excellent and Steve made sure that no corners were cut. The quality and craftsmanship were top notch. Steve was very timely in getting the job done. We had friends building a house at the same time and it took them twice as long to build their house. Overall, we are very happy with the contracting service with S Bar S. Five star service! We highly recommend Steve and Shelly with S bar S!

Please read this review and learn from my mistakes. I gave Steve and Shelly Snow way too much latitude because of the positive reviews and recommendations. I had inherited my Dad's home and was looking for an experienced contractor to fix it up for a quick sale. This is what happened when I hired them. They did not stick to the contract, and because they refused to pay one of their subs, I have no idea about the others, because they have refused to provide me paperwork of any sort, the house now has an " intent to file" lein on it at the County Clerk by this sub. I had paid the Snows promptly and was told everyone was paid.The lein was for over $ 22,000. The Snows also told me that they required 6 dumpsters for a total around $ 7,000. I am told by the dumpsters company that they only delivered 2 dumpsters to my address, and at half the cost nearly, so more in alignment of the $ 1,500 I had initially anticipated. I also was told I was going to be charged $ 5,000 to replace simple electrical plates, and Steve, after me telling him that I could not afford the roofing deductible for a new roof, went behind my back to my insurance company and a roofer to try to get a new roof because I'm told he could make a large profit on it. I was charged $ 100 for them to cut each blind when Lowes does it for free. In the middle of the project, the Snows wanted an $ 800 travel charge, and by a Zelle like means, and ended up damaging an Italian tile floor to try to get out of paying the painters, as well as damaging a 70 year old tub by placing a heavy metal scale in it without padding. They said," oh well" to both. I'm told they were rarely there, and they did not supervise their subs, letting them have access to my key. They requested additional funds above what I had generously provided already, to clear the few items out of my Dad's workshop. I wondered why it had been locked during the final walk through, but was honestly so exhausted by their attitude of me simply asking what labor was on a project they hadn't completed, that I just assumed it had been completed. They had told me that the workshop had been cleared, taken the money, and left everything there. The sad part is they could have made different choices, gotten an amazing review, and great new clients. The floors and lights turned out well. However, the ceiling repair was only caulked and not repaired and has fallen down within a couple weeks, and they had caused a plumbing leak, causing water to flow in the kitchen. They told me they had sent a plumber, and to expect travel charges, however again no paperwork, and the kitchen leaked the next week, having very nearly flooded the entire house, so I have no idea whether someone actually worked on it or not because of their silence. When I received the lein, they did send me 6 cancelled checks to the dumpsters rental , however none of them were for my job. I understand from big contractors, that their tempers had contractors asking not to ever work with them again. I have since found out that I'm not the only client that they have treated this way. I find it incredibly sad that as they did this, knowing I had a life and sight threatening autoimmune condition, and they said it was " to the Glory of God".

The Snows cut off communication with me the day I received the lein notice . The lein holder said they said, " they would Not pay". Last Friday, payment was left outside their home, with them not home. All that time I had texted to do what is right for Christ, for His Truth. The Snows walked off the job without completing jobs paid for nor making repayment for their damages or overcharges. There has been only silence. No paperwork to show if others have been paid, which against TX law.
Please pray for the Snows, and please use extreme caution if you chose to use them as your contractor, making certain that a paper trail is available on demand when asked for at every step, and that the contract includes everything. May God Bless America. Proverbs 3

We used this company to add a covered front deck/porch to our home. Steve is very easy to work with and provides supervision necessary to the workers actually performing the task. The carpenters he uses are quite skilled and professional in their field. We are quite pleased with the project and will use them as needed for future projects. S Bar S Construction is highly recommended!

Steve, the owner, has had 30+ years of hands on construction and supervision. He knows what he is doing! He took a farm house built in 1901 and completely renovated all aspects of the house, along with doubling its size, all without a set of plans! His goal is to make the customer happy and he did so in our case. He is honest and you can count on his word. Highly recommend his company.
