Had issues with my oil indicator flashing on a long with copious amount of oil drips. The mechanic could have sold me a major repair (which would not solve the problem) but kept digging and fixed a leaking oil pressure sensor. Still a big job on a Hyundai but the right diagnosis and turned quickly. Very happy with the results.

I have been using Japanese Auto Repair Specialists for several years now. They used to be at Tokyo Town under different ownership. I have always had great professional service from Peggy, the receptionist and from Mike Carroll, our mechanic. I appreciate that I am always well informed in advance and that unnecessary repairs are not recommended. Thank you for keeping our 3 Toyotas running reliably for many years now!

Arrived with my old mitsubishi to get my oil pressure, abs, and belt issues diagnosed. They told me their diagnosis fees and they were over the going rate at every other nearby shop. Multiple other mechanics told me that they most likely would have not charged me to diagnose the belt if I was already going in for 2 other big diagnoses. Plus the service advisor did not tell me the diagnosis fees until my appointment was ready which is very unprofessional. Save yourself some money and go around the block, there's cheaper shops that can offer just as good service

Of course nobody wants to spend a lot of money on their car, but to have a running and dependable vehicle, we sometimes have to. We had always gone to our Honda dealer for both routine maintenance and any problems. We found that we were trusting them less and less over time. They were always trying to do more to the car than we were confident was necessary, and their statements received after work done were a little confusing to get through.
Someone recommended Japanese Auto, and we gave them a try. It was so nice to be able to actually meet and talk to the mechanic. He was quick but thorough with the diagnostics for both routing maintenance and coming up with a priority list for other needed work. We felt we got our money's worth for work done, and it was easy to read and understand the bill as to what the problem was, what was done to fix it and the cost clearly divided out for labor and parts.
We would highly recommend Japanese Auto

I'm bringing my 2008 Infiniti M45x V8 back to its original splendor, which included new valve covers and extensive suspension work. This was a big job requiring expertise from people who know these cars; Japanese Auto was recommended to me. Ken and his team did a great job, explaining the work carefully, giving me options, sending pictures and pricing, and ensuring everything was done correctly and expeditiously. The charges were very fair and good value. I was impressed and will be going back!

My 2015 Subaru outback had a transmission leak in 2023. The dealer fixed it but I guess never replaced the missing fluid. The vehicle became jerky in the lower speeds. I took it into Japanese Auto Repair specialist for a cvt service and they did a fluid exchange. Car runs great now. Had a $15 off coupon not sure if it ever got applied. Didn't show on the invoice. Quoted price over the phone was higher than what was billed in the end. Final price competitive for the area. They had a waiting room but I was told couldn't wait over the phone. Didn't ask about it in person. Thanks again for getting me in quick and my car doesn't jerk anymore.

I had the unpleasant experience of speaking with Peggy as I was trying to research quotes for compressor replacement. She refused to offer a quote and asked if I had received an estimate from another shop( which is weird unless you're trying to make sure you don't underbid). Despite me saying that I had already had my car diagnosed and I just wanted to get an idea of what the price would be, Peggy refused and instead said that I could bring the car in for another diagnostic separate from the repair that could and would go from $75-$350. I have no problem getting the car diagnosed again but no one wants to spend $200 dollars to be told the same thing repeatedly and then be blindly hit with a $2000 quote for repair. I will never contact or use this business and I recommend you do the same. Auto repair shops have general billable hours and parts list. Every other shop was able to provide a range with the general information I provided. Peggy is unprofessional and gives a customer the idea that this shop is money hungry.

And after reading another review it seems this is something they ARE KNOWN FOR.

Japanese Auto Repair has been my go-to car place for years. I Have used them for basic maintenance to major repairs. They have always done good honest work, if they can do it they will fix it and if they can't, they've referred me to someone who can. My Kia Niro is happy with these guys.
